Cheeky Monkey, ett otroligt coolt märke

Jag håller just nu på och delar upp mitt och min f.d sambos bohag och packar lite inför kommande flytt, men detta ska väl inte ta allt för lång tid. Så länge får ni här ett litet tips om ett sjukt roligt nagellacksmärke!

Ungefär i samband med att min “semester” började så läste jag ett inlägg av en tjej som också är med i Polish Blogger Network, som handlade om just nagellacksmärket Cheeky Monkey. Nu hittar jag dock inte vem det var som skrev det inlägget, men jag blev påmind ännu en gång om det här märket när Bright Lights, Big Color visade nåra swatches från dem.

Cheeky Monkey är ett kanadensiskt nagellacksmärke som har gjort sig kända för sina otroligt roliga och tuffa namn som tillsammans med en liten notis eller rättare sagt historia om namnen gör dem till nagellack man bara MÅSTE ha. Tänk dig själv, ett brunt nagellack med namnet “Camel Toe” och med det kommer notisen:

“There was a group of 6 of us standing on the front porch. The party was very loud and gregarious in the backyard. Being adults you would think we could smoke in front of our spouses-especially when we had all been drinking, but no we had to do the smoke of shame, away from the party.

Anyway we started talking about what a camel toe was. Everyone was laughing and enjoying the silly banter. Someone asked if a man’s crotch grabbing pants were called the same thing? Well, apparently a male version of a camel toe is called a Moose knuckle. (at least in this neck of the woods)

The group was made up of 2 women and 4 men. The funniest part of the whole situation was that all the men seemed to put their hands in their pockets at the same time and discreetly try and pull their pants down at the crotch area-as if ensuring they did not have the dreaded Moose Knuckle! I should add one of the men was wearing a dress shirt untucked with jeans-so he didn’t do the pull down.

So myself, the other woman and long shirt man burst out laughing and had to check out all of the men’s crotches to see if they had the MK.

So if you are ever at a party and are lacking conversation just strike up the Camel Toe/Moose Knuckle discussion and it will see you through the lull.”

Andra namn du hittar bland deras nagellack är: Party Whore, Nail Me, Social Climber, Born Again Virgin m.fl. Hur roligt är inte det? Som den rockchic jag är längst inne i mig så fullkomligt avgudar jag de här lacken, inte för hur bra de är, för det har jag ingen aning om om de är, men enbart för deras roliga namn och det Cheeky Monkey har byggt upp kring deras nagellack.

Ett lack från dem kostar $15, känns kanske lite dyrt när man är van vid att shoppa China Glaze för $2.99 på Transdesign.com , men jag tror det hade kunnat vara värt det, tyvärr verkar det som att USA har fått nya “Shipping policies” så Cheeky Monkey skickar inte längre farligt gods internationellt (tyvärr räknas nagellack som farligt gods).

It was maybe a month ago that I heard about Cheeky Monkey the first time, it was in a post made by a fellow polishblogger, today I can’t recall which one of them it was. But just a couple of days ago I read about this brand once again, this time it was Bright Lights, Big Color, that had bought 2 of their polishes, but one of the polishes that was sent to her was the wrong one, so she got the one she wanted a little bit later, and also receiving one more of her choice as compensation for the mishap. Great customerservice I must say!

I think this is hilarious and I crave these polishes only because of their bold and funny names. Just think of the face you will get when someone asks you “what polish do you wear?” and you answer them “Born Again Virgin” or “I’m wearing Party Whore”

Their polishes are sold for $15 on their website, you might think this is quite  expensive when you can order China Glaze for only $2.99 from Transdesign, but they are so much fun so I’m thinking of ordering one just for that reason.
